Family Learning About Butterflies

This Weekend, Have Some Fun with the Whole Family Learning About Butterflies, Birds, Robots, and Trains!

Have you made preparations for the next weekend? Are you ready for some fun that the whole family can enjoy? You’re in luck, because now is the appropriate time for both of those things! We have compiled a list of activities for you to participate in so that you won’t be bored this weekend!

On Friday, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., Watchung Booksellers, located at 54 Fairfield Street in the Watchung Plaza in Montclair, will play host to Beth Ferry, author of “The Umbrella.” At this event, the well-known author of books for children, Beth Ferry, will return to the shop to celebrate the publication of her most recent picture book, titled The Umbrella. A young girl and her dog make a remarkable discovery together in the gloomy town where it never stops raining. They find an unanticipated way to bring more joy into the world. This is a narrative about generosity, tenacity, and the way that happiness can be contagious; all it takes is one person with a good idea to start the chain reaction. The tale is told with surprise and humour. This heartwarming tale, with its breathtaking illustrations, is certain to become a timeless favourite for all bedtimes and story times.

Frelinghuysen Arboretum will continue to play host to the Photo Scavenger Hunt throughout the year.

The Family Photo Scavenger Hunt will continue to take place at the Frelinghuysen Arboretum, which is located at 353 East Hanover Avenue in Morris Twp. Bring your camera or phone with you to this month’s hunt, which will take place daily from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The theme for the month of April is “April Fools!” Within the garden, plants provide some of the most effective camouflage. You may uncover some of the spring garden’s best-kept secrets by using both your eyes and your camera. The cost is ten dollars for each family or group of no more than six people. There is a requirement for prior registration.

Discovery Weekend will take place on Saturday, starting at 9:00 AM and ending at 3:00 PM

Discovery Weekend will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum, which is located at 165 Hobart Avenue in Summit. Visit the Arboretum in the spring, when the gardens and grounds truly come to life with all of the sights and sounds that the season has to offer. Visit the Stackhouse Education Centre for this programme that is self-guided and is geared towards families with children aged three and up. Borrow a magnifying glass from someone else (but don’t forget to give it back when you’re done using it), take an interactive activity guide, and then step outside to discover the wonders, both large and small, that are waiting for you.  There may be a surprise or two in store for you, a hint to decipher, a mystery to unravel, an opportunity to create, and there will always be an exciting outdoor activity. Every weekend brings with it exciting new opportunities!
